What to expect after laser treatment?
For approximately 1-2 hours after the BBL Photofacial, the skin feels like a minor sunburn. The pigment or sun damage will get darker over the next 24 hours this is called “microcrusting” but stays smooth to the touch. It takes approximately 7 days for the cells to turn over and disappear on the face, 14-21 days for the neck and chest.
The Profractional and MicroLaser Peel are both ablative lasers. Depending on the depth of the laser will determine downtime. For approximately 3-4 hours after the procedure the skin will be hot like a sunburn. Possible pinpoint bleeding with the Profractional laser the first few hours but that will turn to a crust within 24 hours. Minor to moderate swelling is possible for the first few days. Crusting of the skin will begin to wash off after 3-4 days. The skin will be smooth within 5-7 days. The results continue to improve for 4-8 weeks.
