So, I’ve been thinking a lot lately about this whole aging thing. Even though I know better, I have found myself thinking more and more resistant thoughts about turning 50 later this year, and I’m trying to figure out why I’ve been pushing against “graceful aging”. Besides, this is what I do day in and day out every day of my career. I cheer patients on to look their best for their age and make choices that enhance youthfulness and beauty… and, more importantly, I encourage my patients to embrace the beautiful place where they are in their life. So, why am I not heeding my own advice? What is so terrifying about the number 5-0? Nothing else will change…. I will still be the same person I have always been on the inside. I will still look the same on the outside. I have to get a grip.
As part of my therapy, I have decided to create a video blog for my Instagram account enhanced.elegance called “Almost Fifty and Fab”. I figure this will help me deeply reflect on who I am and the choices I make on a daily or weekly basis. And, maybe I can help someone else who might be struggling with the number that is assigned to them on a given birthday. I have actually found the process to be healing, thus far. I have already posted a video on giving myself weekly B complex/Fat burner injections and I know that many more fun topics will be discussed along the way. I feel like so many possibilities are beginning to be revealed to me about lifestyle choices that have been made unconsciously by me or not assigned much importance.
I am determined to change my mindset. And, it all begins with taking one aspect of my life on a regular basis and providing some background for my followers about what I do to stay youthful and feel beautiful. I figure I can create all sorts of videos on Botox, fillers, my skincare regimen, the nutritional supplements I take daily, the way I eat, the red wine I drink, my exercise and sleep routine, massage, nails, hair… the list goes on and on. When I cover a fun topic, I will definitely share the information here on my blog for the website.
